FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I book an exclusive Braveheart Weekend for my group?
Yes. Please contact us at 912-245-4449 or email us at info@recapturedpassion.com. You may also contact us about scheduling a Weekend by clicking HERE.

The Braveheart Weekend home page talks about fathers and sons attending. When are the Father and Sons Weekends scheduled?

We only schedule Father and Sons Weekends when requested by churches or other organizations. Please contact us at 912-245-4449 or email us at info@recapturedpassion.com.

What does the registration fee cover?
In our ministry sponsored events, your registration fee covers two nights lodging, 5 meals, snacks, drinks, field manual, and all materials for Adventure Activities such as the Skeet Shooting Tournament and the “War Games” (Paintball War). It does not include travel arrangements to and from the event. You may want to bring extra cash or a credit card for additional materials that will be for sale. (The Registration Fee for exclusive events is set by the sponsoring organizations.)

Can I transfer my registration to another person?
Yes. But you are not allowed to transfer it to another event. Please Note: Braveheart Weekend Tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE. If the event is made impossible by any act of God, war, earthquake, fire, strike, sickness, accident, epidemic, act of government, its agencies or officers, or any other legitimate cause beyond our control, Recaptured Passion Ministries will cancel the event and refund your full registration fee to you.

Can I choose my roommates?

No! EVERYONE sleeps bunkhouse style in the same large dormitory room.

Are there any prerequisites for attending a Braveheart Weekend?

Only these:

  • You must be at least 18 years old (at least 8 years old for the Father and Sons Weekend).
  • That you begin praying The Daily Prayer (available HERE) at least 10 days before you arrive.
  • That you prepare yourself for 2 nights and 3 days without cell phones and computers—this is a time to hear from God!
  • That you prepare yourself to be REAL with others.

What should I bring for the Braveheart Weekend?

The following items are mandatory:

  • Bible and a pen or pencil.
  • Sleeping bag/bed roll, pillow, soap, shampoo, bath towels, wash cloths, toiletry items, etc. (this ain’t The Ritz). PLEASE NOTE: All men (and boys) sleep bunkhouse style so earplugs (snoring) are nice!
  • Cold weather clothing—i.e., jackets, thermal underwear, jeans, boots, gloves. A wise choice would be to bring clothing that can be put on in layers—the South Georgia weather can go from warm during the day to very cold at night.

The following are optional (but you will probably want them):

  • Lounge chair for sitting around the fire at night.
  • Outdoor wear/gear for hiking, fishing, skeet shooting, and paintball.
  • 12 or 20 gauge shotgun (if you have it—if not, we have plenty). NOTE: Do not bring your own shells. They will be provided.
  • Paintball Gun and protective gear (if you have it—if not, we have you covered). NOTE: Do not bring your own paintballs. They will be provided.

Obviously, if you are traveling here by plane, don’t try to bring your weapon on board (duh!).

Do I have to participate in the Adventure Activities like the War Games and the Skeet Shooting Tournament?

Everyone participates in the War Games, but you may choose to participate as a non-combatant (i.e., you don’t have to shoot or be shot at—you can serve another purpose for your Band of Brothers on the front lines). The Skeet Shooting Tournament is optional.

Where is the Braveheart Weekend held? How do I get there?

Braveheart Weekends are normally held at a South Georgia Camp close to Tarrytown, GA. Directions to the Camp are available online only after registration is complete.

Do the facilities have handicapped access?

Because this is a private facility, we regret to say that the handicapped facilities are at a bare minimum. We would love for you to attend if you have a physical limitation, however, you will indeed be roughing it.

What is the schedule for the weekend?

Check-in is from 4:30 — 6:00 pm on Friday followed by Dinner at 6:30 pm. The Weekend concludes after the final worship time on Sunday morning (approximately 9:30 am). The Weekend offers 6 distinct worship and teaching times that feature multimedia presentations as well as question and answer opportunities. Careful attention is given to allow men to have intimate conversations with God. For a more detailed schedule, please see the Braveheart Weekend home page.

Is there anything else you suggest I do before attending the Braveheart Weekend?

We would like to suggest that you read Wild at Heart, by John Eldredge, before you attend.
